Capitalism with a conscience

Built on character, culture, and commitment.

We acquire, build, and hold great businesses - partnering with high-integrity owners who care about their legacy and their people. Owners’ legacies continue. Teams stay and grow. Businesses thrive.

Our Three C framework

Three things drive how we operate.

As innovators, we bring intense customer focus and a partnership mindset. As builders, experience across technology, product, and operations lets us execute with a clear, AI-enabled value-creation playbook.

01 / CHARACTER C

Act with integrity, every time.

We do the right thing, even when it’s not the easy thing to do. We live by the golden rule and are professionals that owners, employees, customers, and partners can trust.

02 / CULTURE C

Strive for excellence. Have fun.

We produce great outcomes with inspired, high-performing teams by creating environments where authenticity, collegiality, and accountability thrive.

03 / COMMITMENT C

To each other. To our communities.

We invest time, capital, and attention to build durable, impactful businesses - building our people and the communities we operate in, using capitalism as a tool for good.

Creating durable value

Vision. Strategy. Execution.

We work to deeply understand competitive dynamics and focus on delivering durable value to customers.

i.VISION

Given the market environment, where should we go?

We use data to inform where an industry is and leverage insight from owners and experienced teams to understand where it’s going.

ii.STRATEGY

What is our advantage, and how do we leverage it?

Concentrate where we can compound because we deliver customer value in a way no one else can. Say no to anything that may distract us from that. Focus is a choice we make every day.

iii.EXECUTION

Given what we know, what is our roadmap?

Plan, document assumptions. Be relentless and resilient. Measure to manage. Compound small wins. Learn from setbacks.

The KVD operating model

Key value drivers - measured, aligned, owned.

Every business we operate is run against a small set of Key Value Drivers: the few things that, when they move, the whole business moves.

  • 01

    Focus on the customer

What do they need, what would they miss, what do they pay for? Deliver those things.

  • 02

    Measure what we treasure

Pick the handful of metrics that predict value. Instrument them. Make them visible.

  • 03

    Align the organization

Structure, incentives, and cadence - all aimed at the value drivers. Keep focused.

  • 04

    Let the data tell us

Honest scorekeeping. If we’re not getting better, we adapt to achieve our goals.

The Three Rs

We look for resilient businesses.

The most resilient businesses typically score on at least two of these criteria.

R

Required

Regulation or operational necessity drives demand. Customers have to buy - to meet code, licensing, or safety requirements, or because it’s mission-critical to running their operations and serving their own customers.

R

Recurring

Revenue repeats by contract, subscription, or ingrained relationship. Retention is measurable and high.

R

Resistant

Demand carries through cycles. Low discretionary exposure; essential to the customer’s operation.

J. Womack

Founder & Managing Member

I founded Conduit Capital to bring together two things I care deeply about: the golden rule, and the power of business to create opportunity. I believe that earnings from productive capital - directed with purpose toward the issues that strain the fabric of our society - can help build a better world for those here today and those who will come tomorrow. That conviction is grounded in my faith, and it shapes how I lead.

My interest in entrepreneurship started early. I grew up in a family of professionals with parents who built entrepreneurial careers and relatives who ascended to the heights of traditional Corporate America. I was a precocious kid who read BusinessWeek in elementary school, and I took part in the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation’s EntrePrep program when I was in high school. I carried that interest into my undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California and my graduate studies at The Wharton School, where I took courses in entrepreneurship along with economics and finance. In 2014, I made my first attempt to acquire a business. It didn’t close, but the experience never left me and became the foundation for my pivot to owning and operating a business.

Over the last 25 years, I’ve worked across technology, operations, and product in organizations large and small - from startups to boutique firms and large, public companies. During that time, I led impactful acquisitions, built transformative products and services, and spearheaded critical change management initiatives to improve capital allocation, enhance return on capital, and grow through clear strategy with focused execution.

Throughout my career, I learned what my unique talent was and honed it: I identify structural change, develop vision that creates urgency, and translate that vision into clear strategy to galvanize teams to take action. Three threads run through my experiences: building and scaling solutions with measurable revenue outcomes, leading M&A and integration with discipline, and running complex, cross-functional teams that delivered - across tech, product, ops, and compliance. Most importantly, I’ve done it collaboratively and with integrity. It’s that ethos that continues to drive me today.

Small businesses - and the leaders who found them and work in them every day - are the backbone of the economy and pillars in our communities. Conduit Capital exists to deliver transformative economic growth by partnering with those owners, applying what I’ve learned, and empowering their dedicated teams as we serve customers and strengthen the communities we operate in.
